Terms of Use

1. Your Account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pionear. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for all activities that occur under it. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

2. User Content

Our Service allows you to post content, including coffee shop recommendations, ratings, and comments ("User Content"). You retain all rights to your User Content, but you grant Pionear a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display this content in connection with the Service. This includes making your recommendations visible to your connected Pionears and sharing public recommendation lists.

3. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities: (i) copying, distributing, or disclosing any part of the Service in any medium; (ii) using any automated system, including "robots" or "spiders," to access the Service; (iii) transmitting spam or other unsolicited email; (iv) attempting to interfere with the system integrity or security.

4. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: When you register, we collect personal information such as your name, email address, and profile picture.
• Recommendations: We collect the information you provide about coffee shops, including ratings, locations, and your comments.
• Location Data: With your permission, we may access your device's location to provide features like find-nearby-shops.
• Usage Data: We use Google Analytics to collect information about how you interact with our Service. This may include your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on pages.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide, maintain, and improve our Service; personalize your experience; communicate with you about your account; and monitor and analyze trends and usage.

3. How We Share Your Information

• With Your Network: Your recommendations are shared with other users you are connected with as "Pionears".
• Public Lists: You have the option to generate and share public links to your recommendation lists. Anyone with the link can view this list.
• Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party vendors and service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (e.g., email delivery via Resend, analytics via Google).

4. Profile Discoverability

To help you connect with friends, your Pionear profile (including your display name and profile picture) is searchable by other registered Pionear users. Users who search for your name may be able to see your basic profile information. Your specific recommendations and full friends list remain private to your connected network. We provide a privacy setting in your account page to control whether your profile is discoverable in search.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information. We use Google Analytics to help us analyze how our Service is used. You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
